we will take p(x) as zero as asked by the question.

Then,

2x + 1 = 0

2x = -1

x = -1/2

Answer:

What the value given to x which makes the equation equals to zero is a Zero of the equation.

Here the 1st equation is

p(x) = 2x + 1

So we need to equate tthis equation to 0

2x + 1 = 0

x = -1/2.

In the 2nd equation the polynomial is not dependent on x.

So the x value can be any number.

So by finding the zero of the 1st equation it can be applied to the 2nd equation also.

Hopes it helps you
