step 1 :- molecular weight = 2× vapour density
= 50 × 2 = 100 g/mol
step 2:- metal chloride ,
let metal n electrons loss to form stable ions .eg M → M+n + ne
also we know,
chlorine accept only one electrons so,
CL → Cl- -e
hence ,
formula, = MCln
so, formula, mass = M + n× 35.5
so, M + n× 35.5 = 100 -----(1)
and , n×35.5/100 × 100 = 71
n = 2
so,
M + 71 = 100
M = 29 g/mol
= 50 × 2 = 100 g/mol
