Word problem-

Ali’s age is two more than twice of his sister’s age. 5 years ago, his sister’s age was 3. What is Ali’s age?

(sister’s age = 5+3 = 8, Ali’s age = 2x +2 = 2(8) + 2 = 16+2 = 18 yrs)
