•swollen Stalk or pedicle of flower is known as thalamus or receptacle.
•there are two essential whorls(calyx and corolla) and 2 non essential whorls {Gynocium -carple (female part) and Androecium-anther(male part)}
•when flower bears both Gynocium and Androecium it is called bisexual flowers. If only Androecium or only Gynocium are present flower is known as unisexual flower.
•Fertilisation- When 2 fusion event ,i.e, syngamy and triple fusion occur in each embryo sac, this phenomenon is called double fertilisation and it ensures that the endosperm develops only after successful formation of zygote.
