C3 Photosynthesis. This type of photosynthesis employs solely the C3 Cycleby which carbon dioxide go through chemical reactions to form carbohydrates. The C3 cyclic reactions also include the regeneration of the CO2-acceptor chemical substrate. Plants exhibiting this mechanism of photosynthesis are called C3 plants.

The plants exhibiting C3 pathway are called C3 plants. About 95% of the trees plants and shrubs on Earth are C3 plants it is also called calvin cycle.

1. It results in the synthesis of carbohydrates from CO₂

2. It depends on the light  reaction for the supply of the assimiatory power that is required for carbon assimilation.

3. It is the primary source of organic food & food energy for all the living organisms.
