Answer:

(A) 3/2

Power of lens,

P(in dioptre) = 100 focal length f (in cm)

∴f=100/10=10cm

According to lens maker’s formula

1/f=(μ−1)(1/R₁−1/R₂)

For biconvex lens, R₁=+R,R₂=−R

∴1/f=(μ−1)(1/R−1/R)

1/f=(μ−1)(2/R)

1/10=(μ−1)(2/10)

(μ−1)=1/2=μ=

1/2+1

=3/2
