What is democracy
⏺The word ' Democracy' has been derived from a Greek word ' Democratic '. ' Demos' means people and 'kartia ' means rule . So , democracy is the rule by the people .
✳In a Democratic Government
◼ Government is formed by people's representative.
◼ Representatives are elected in free and fair election .
◼ Different decisions of the government are taken in an open manner ; debate in media , representative to experts option , representative by the common man form a part of decision making process .
◼ Citizens have a right to oppose and choose any government action and policy .
◼ Citizen have a right to protest as long as the mode of protest is with in the boundaries of law .
❇ In a Non - democratic Government
◼ People are Ruled by force , by a person or by the group of persons .
◼ No one can oppostion is permitted .
◼ No criticism of government views or of rulers is tolerated .
◼ Decision are taken in an arbitrary manner , without reference to any rules or laws .
◼ Citizen have no rights .
◼ Citizen have no rights .
◼ Citizen cannot resort to any method of protest .

In a democratic government the major decisions are taken by the leaders who are elected by the people of that country. These elected leaders represent the whole country so in this way the need of all people are satisfied.
b) Free and Fair Electoral Competition :
A democracy is based on a free and fair election where does currently in power have a fair chance of losing.
c) One Person, One Vote , One Value :
In a democratic country each and every adult is provided a single word which is having equal value. It means each what must have one value then that of other.
d) Rule of Law and Respect of Rights :
In democracy a country can be rule only within limits set by constitutional law and citizens' rights.
