No. of blue balls are given here as x

no of red balls are 8.

now, total number of outcomes will be = red balls +blue balls=8+x

now, the probability of red ball =8/8+x

and probability of blue balls=x/8+x

Now, the question says that ratio of probability of red balls to probability of blue balls=2:5

i.e 8/8+x:x/8+x=2:5

by cross multiplication

2(x/8+x)=5(8/8+x)

by simplifying it we get x=20.
