Please explain me pH scale!

It is a way of measuring the nature of anything., say acidic, basic or neutral. E.g.. if u take a sample of WATER.. the pH scale will be  7(neutral)., if u take sample of h2SO4., it will be 1 and if u take NaOH.. it will be 14...
