Answer:

The first clothes were made from natural elements: animal skin, fur, grass, leaves, bone, and shells. Garments were often draped or tied; however, simple needles made out of animal bone provide evidence of sewn leather and fur garments from at least 30,000 years ago.

Their research suggests that the invention of clothing may have coincided with the northward migration of modern Homo sapiens away from the warm climate of Africa, thought to have begun between 50,000 and 100,000 years ago.

Instead, anthropologists largely rely on indirect methods to date the origin of clothes. A 2011 study on lice suggested that it was only 170,000 years ago when it all began. ... The idea is that, once we started wearing clothes, some lice started living in them and evolved into a separate species.
