(Note one thing this sign method can only be used in multiplication and division and not in addition and subtraction. There is a little different method for division)

What is 5x7 ?
Yes, 35

So here there are two negative signs
Since two negative signs are coming the answer will be written in positive sign

If you don’t know about that then read this

When negative sign (-) and negative(-) comes the answer will be positive (+)

For example -7x-5=35

When (-)negative and positive(+) come
The answer will be written with a negative (-)
For example -7x5= -35

When (+) and (+) comes the answer be written with a (+) sign

Example 7x5=35,
Like we do usually
When theres no sign given that means it’s positive (+)

+35

Multiplication is a mathematical process that conveys the idea of adding the same number over and over again. The factors are the numbers that are multiplied, and the result achieved after multiplying two or more numbers is known as the product of those numbers. Multiplication is a technique for making repeated additions of the same number easier.

 5*7= 35

Integer Multiplication Rules:

  • Multiply their absolute values first.
  • Second, using the requirements below, determine the sign of the final result (in this case, the product because we are multiplying).
  • Condition 1: The product is always a positive number if the signs of the two numbers are the same.

         (+)*(+)= (+)

         (-)*(-)= (+)

  • Condition 2: The product is always a negative number if the signs of the two values disagree.

         (+)*(-)= (-)

         (-)*(+)= (-)

- sign in the number 5 is multiplied with - sign in the number 7 gives + sign to the answer 35.
