in this pic it is same as the respiratory system.

as u can see the first image in it the hand takes tye sheet down hence it applies force of air and air comes inside with the pipe outside hence it inflates
in second case the hand pushes rubber sheet back hence it pushes air out through pipe
hence it shows like our respiratory system that how it works.
