PLEASE EXPLAIN THE MEANING OF THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE :

"Canonical structures of similar energy contribute equally to the resonance hybrid. However, the structure with higher energy is less stable and makes lesser contribution to the resonance hybrid."

It is saying that since the canonical structure is having similar energy with resonance hybrid therefore there is no overload of sort so their energy is stable but when a structure has higher energy it's balance with the resonance hybrid becomes unstable and therefore they do not support the hybrid much unlike when they were stable.
