Answer:

The poem ‘ The Road Not Taken’ was written by Robert Frost, an American poet . Frost was born in the year 1876. His work was first published in England before it was published in America. Known for his realistic depiction of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech, Frost frequently wrote about setting from rural life in New England in the early 20th century. Here the narrator comes upon a fork in the road while walking through a yellow wood. He considers both the parts and concludes that each one is appealing. After choosing one of the roads, the narrator tells himself that he would go back to that fork to try the other road. However, he realizes that it is unlikely that he would ever get an opportunity to go back to that particular point, because his choice of path would lead to other forks in the road.

The poem is made of 4 stanzas with 5 lines each the rhyme scheme a, b, a, a, b. In the first 3 stanzas, the poet shows no regret for his decision, yet, as an old man, the narrator attends to explain why certain things happened in his life. The narrator keeps to his decision of choosing the less travelled path and claims it to be a defining moment in his life.

This what I have written in my notebook. Hope this helps you!
