☸each atomic orbital can accommodate a maximum of 2 electrons with opposite spin (i.e.+1/2 and -1/2)

☸so.. it is saying that in any period... say period no. 1 has 2 elements.. i.e. hydrogen and helium

❣okay.... c..
electronic configuration of H=1s^1 and He=> 1s^2
n=1 for both
l= 0
=> m=0
=> no. of orbitals in both of them is 1
as I mentioned earlier... 1 orbital 2electrons

☸so ... in a period... the electrones are successively filled in increasing order of energy...
and u can calculate the no. of orbitals= n^2= 2l+1
and in a period we have n= same=> whole of the orbitals must be filled... so as to move to another i.e next n value....
and for that u need 2n^2 electrons which is equal to no. of electrones in an orbital..
here for both H and He we have n=1 so no. of electrones= 2= no. of elements in a period

hope I did not mess it up....

if any doubt plz ask in comment section...
hope it helps you...
