Therefore a carbocation is bound to form.

The nitro, cyano, keto and aldehydic groups given in the questions are all electron withdrawing groups. Hence they increase the electrophilicity (+ve charge) on carbon atoms.

Hence Inorder to answer this question we have to know the order of electron withdrawing capabilities of various groups

The order is

NO2 > CN > CHO (aldehyde)> CO (ketone).
