First learn these:

Hydrogen - H2

Chlorine - Cl2

Hydrogen Chloride - HCl

Barium Chloride - BaCl2

Aluminum Sulphate - Al2(SO4)3

Barium Sulphate - BaSo4

Aluminum Chloride - AlCl3

Sodium - Na

Water - H2O

Sodium Hydroxide - NaOH

There are many more... but I only wrote according to the question.

How to balance equations?!

1) Write the chemical equation from the given word equation. For which you'll need a bit of knowledge about the elements and all...

2) After writing chemical equation, write all the elements of RHS on one side and elements of LHS other side separately.

3) Check both sides whether the elements are in same quantity or not.

4) If they are in same quantity leave it, if not then balance it by multiplying a digit to the LHS or the RHS.

EXAMPLE

Hydrogen + Chlorine --------> Hydrogen Chloride

1) H2 + Cl2 -------------> HCl

2) LHS: •H - 2

•Cl - 2

RHS: •H - 1

•Cl - 1

3) Here LHS RHS so we have to make them equal... To make both sides equal, we can multiply 2 on RHS.

4) So after multiplying 2 on RHS, we get

H2 + Cl2 ----------> 2HCl

LHS: •H - 2

Cl - 2

RHS: •H - 1×2 = 2

•Cl - 1×2 = 2

Therefore both the sides are now balanced..

HENCE LHS = RHS, THE EQUATION IS BALANCED

You need to practice it a little to get it without doubt!
