It's based on Darwin's theory of evolution which states that all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce.

After each generation new traits will come from reproduction. And if those new traits are suitable for the changing climatic conditions then that specie will survive and if not will perish.

in simply words only those species will survive that is capable of adjusting itself to the changing nature.

it states that even organism that we see were once just a cell with the process of evolution. Gradually they Got more and more complex and finally turned into the complex organism that we know today.
