Given: Length of the rectangle is 4x -  2, breadth is 2x and the perimeter is 20cm.

To find: The value of x.

Answer:

Formula to find the perimeter of a rectangle: 2*(length + breadth)

Substituting the given values,

20 = 2*(4x - 2 + 2x)

20 = 2*(6x - 2)

20 = 12x - 4

20 + 4 = 12x

24 = 12x

x = 24/12

x = 2

Hope it helps :)

Here is your answer....

we know that the perimeter of rectangle is given by...

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

so , now place the value of perimeter, length and breadth..

20 = 2(4x - 2 + 2x)

10 = 6x - 2

6x = 12

x = 2

hope this will help you....
