This is your ans.
but if imaginary part is allowed,then we can solve (p²+16)=0
p²=-16
p=√-16
p=±4i
i.e.(p²+16)=(p+4i)(p-4i)

Therefore the ans.becomes...
p⁴-256=(p²+16)(p+4)(p-4)
=(p+4)(p-4)(p+4i)(p-4i).
