Village: Healthy or "Wealthy"?

By Somya.

Date: 10/10/21

"Are you from the government? Please tell them we haven't had something good for a long time."

These were the words of Lakshmi Singh.

The plights of those populations were indeed sad. With very little to no pedagogy, very limited access to health care and sustenance, their conditions were miserable.

Upon entering the village, we were greeted by a horrific scene. The scenes of naked, malnourished children roaming around the streets brought tears to our eyes.

The second thing we saw was the most horrific and disgusting. People sitting in the open. Upon asking whether or not having a toilet, they made us understand that they weren't financially able.

Hospitals were terrible. Cats and dogs were roaming around the hospital. No qualified doctors. The most qualified ones were only high school passes. With most of the doctors being jokes, the hardships of the hospitals and clinics are easily imaginable.

The people here urge for your help, folks! With no good health care, literacy, and even a bucket of water costing them to walk 10 km, life is very hard here.

It's been 75 years since our independence. If you go on like this, we shan't get anything but misery.

Thanks!
