Please fast it's urgent.

'A' non-metal which is the largest constituent of air when heated with H2 in the ratio of 1:3 in the presence of catalyst (Fe) gives gas 'B'. On heating with O2 it gives an oxide 'C'. If this oxide is passed into water in the presence of air, it gives an acid 'D', which acts as a strong oxidizing agent.

1. Identify A,B,C,D.

2. To which group of periodic table does this non-metal belong to?

Answer:

A is nitrogen.

Reason: it is the largest constituent of air

B is ammonia.

N2 and H2 in ratio 1:3 give NH3

C is Nitrogen oxide.

N2+O2 gives NO

D is nitric acid.

NO+H2O gives HNO3
