hey I just made one mistake actually a=5 not -5
And then for your explanation the points given in the question are (2,a) and (b,-7). Now with the other points given, we marked them in the graph and got a line. So to find 'a' see where the line meets the point 2 in x axis and to find 'b' see where the line meets y axis
If u check the graph properly u will understand
