Question :-

Show that x = 3 and y = 2 is a solution of linear equation 2x + 3y = 12

Answer :-

Substitute the value of x and y in the equation :-

\sf 2x + 3y = 12

\sf 2 ( 3 ) + 3 ( 2 ) = 12

\sf 6 + 6 = 12

\sf 12 = 12

Question :-

Find rational number b/w 3 & 4.

Answer :-

To find a rational number between two number a and b -

\sf = \frac{a+b}{2}

Rational number b/w 3 & 4

\sf = \frac{3 + 4}{2}

\sf =  \frac{7}{2}

Question :-

What is the degree of 7?

Answer :-

Degree is the highest power of the polynomial of x

\sf 7 = 7 \times x^0

So, the degree of 7 is 0.

Question :-

Factorize :- \sf x^2 + 5x - 24

Answer :-

By using splitting the middle term method :-

\sf = x^2 + 8x - 3x - 24

\sf = x(x+8) - 3(x + 8)

\sf = (x-3)(x + 8)

\sf x^2 + 5x - 24 = (x-3)(x + 8)

Question :-

Find the measure of angle which is 24° more than its complement.

Answer :-

Let the angle be x

Complementary angle = 90 - x

According to the question :-

\sf x = 90 - x + 24

\sf x = 114 - x

\sf 2x = 114

\sf x  = \frac{114}{2}

\sf x = 57

Answer:

(21) put x = 3 and y = 3 in eq , we get

2×3+3×2=12 therefore LHS = RHS

(22) 3 ×7/7 = 21/7

4 × 7/7 = 28/7

one rational number between 3 and 4

22/7

(23) degree of 7 is 0

(24) put x-3 = 0

x = -3

now put p( x) = a

= a

(25) x^ 2 +5x-24

x^2+8x-3x-24

x( x+8)-3(x+8)

(x+8) (x-3)
