53/15 - 22/5 LCM - 15

53/15 × 1/1 = 53/15

22/5 × 3/3 = 66/15

= 53/15 - 66/15 = 53-66/15 = -13/15

Step-by-step explanation:

❒ Given :

  • A drum full of rice weights 53/15 kg.
  • The empty drum weights 22/5 kg.

❒ To Find :

  • The weight of rice in the drum

❒ Solution :

 \displaystyle{ \sf{Weight  \: of  \: rice  =  Full  \: drum \:  weight  - Empty \:  drum  \: weight }}

 \displaystyle{ \sf{Weight  \: of \:  rice  =  \frac{53}{15}   -  \frac{22}{5} \: }}

  • Taking LCM

 \displaystyle{ \sf{Weight \:  of  \: rice =  \frac{53 - 66}{15}  }}

 \displaystyle{ \sf{Weight  \: of  \: rice  =  \frac{ - 13}{15} }}

∴ The weight of the rice in the drum is

-13/15 kg.
