Given :

 \dfrac{x}{6} - 2 = 3

To find :

The value of x

Solution :

\implies \dfrac{x}{6} - 2 = 3

Now LCM of 6 and 1 = 6

\implies \dfrac{x - 12}{6} = 3

Now cross multiply :-

\implies {x - 12} = 3 \times 6

\implies {x - 12} = 18

\implies {x } = 18 + 12

\implies {x } = 30

Answer :

the value of X = 30

Verification of answer :-

To verify the answer put x = 30 in x/6-2=3.

\implies \: LHS = \dfrac{x}{6} - 2

now put x = 30

\implies \: LHS = \dfrac{30}{6} - 2

\implies \: LHS = 5 - 2

\implies \: LHS = \dfrac{30}{6} - 2

\implies \: LHS = 3

Therefore RHS = LHS.

Hence verified
