Answer:

for maximum area of semicircular lawn side of square should be equal to diameter of lawn

hence 70m=diameter =2r

=>r=35cm

i. perimeter of semicircle=πr

=22*35/7

=110 m

ii. area of remaining square=area of square-area of semicircle

area= a²-πr²/2

= 70² -22*35²/7*2

= 4900-1925

= 2975 m²
