prokaryotic cells are unicellular organisms which lack various cell organelles (like mithochondria, centrosomes etc.) and they do not have well defined nucleus i.e. do not have proper neucleus structure.

The prokaryotes are a group oforganisms whose cells lack a membrane-bound nucleus. The organisms whose cells do have a nucleus are called eukaryotes. Most prokaryotes are unicellular organisms, although a few such asmyxobacteria have multicellular stages in theirlife cyclesor create large colonies like cyanobacteria.
