In the poem “The Snail”, the poet Ruskin Bond describes the movements of a snail.

It feels protected when it is inside the shell and it has a rock ledge to defend itself while going outside. He always wants to go in search of plants and juices. He has to overcome all the obstacles on his way in search of food.

He is not unaware of what the obstacles he has to face are, but he never stops his work or walks. He wins at last by finding a big leaf. Thus, the poet feels small on seeing the determination and perseverance of the snail.
