Answer: PLS MARK BRAINLIEST

let 1/x be a and 1/y be b

so, 3a - 2b= -9 & 2a+ 3b= 5

Adding 2 equations we get

5a-b = -4 so b= 5a +4

substituting b in (2)

2a + 3(5a+4)= 5

17a+ 12= 5

so  a= -7/ 17

subs a in b so b= (-7/17)*5 +4

so b= 33/17

so 1/x= -7/17 so x= -17/7

1/y= 33/17 so y = 17/33

EXPLANATION.

  • EQUATION GIVEN

3/x - 1/y = -9 .....(1)

2/x + 3/y = 5 ....(2)

Let we assume that 1/x = a and 1/y = b

The new equation will be written as ;-

3a - b = -9 ....(3)

2a + 3b = 5 ...(4)

multiply equation (1) by 3

multiply equation (2) by 1

9a - 3b = -27

2a + 3b = 5

Therefore,we get,

11a = -22

a = -2

put the value of a in equation (4) we get

2a + 3b = 5

2(-2) + 3b = 5

-4 + 3b = 5

3b = 9

b = 3

Therefore, we can assume 1/x = a

1/x = -2

-2x = 1

x = -1/2

we assume that 1/y = b

1/y = 3

3y = 1

y = 1/3
