Blood is the fluid connective tissue which contains three different types of cells: Erythrocytes, Leucocytes and Thrombocytes. They keep floating on the plasma which is mostly water and makes up 90-92% of blood.

Two functions of blood are listed:

  • Protection
  • Transport of gases.

  • Thermoregulation and haemostasis
  • Transport of hormones in blood.
  • Transport of food materials.
  • Transport of waste materials to be excreted out from the body.
