Question:-

➡ Two sides of a triangle aee (5x + 1) cm and (x² - 5x - 4) cm. If it's perimeter is (3x² + 4x + 2) cm, find the third side.

Solution:-

Given,

Length of First side = (5x + 1) cm.

Length of Second side = (x² - 5x - 4) cm.

Length of Third side = ?

Perimeter = Length of first side + Length of second side + Length of third side.

So,

➡ Length of third side = Perimeter - (Length of first side + Length of second side)

= 3x² + 4x + 2 - (5x + 1 + x² - 5x - 4) cm

= 3x² + 4x + 2 - (x² - 3) cm.

= 3x² + 4x + 2 - x² + 3

= 2x² + 4x + 5

Hence, the length of the third side is 2x² + 4x + 5

Answer:-

The length of third side is (2x² + 4x + 5) cm
