Answer:

Hydrogen gas is usually liberated when an acid react with a metal

magnesium+ Hydrochloric acid====> magnesium chloride + hydrogen

we can test it by taking a burning match stick on the mouth of the test tube with magnesium and hydrochloric acid ,on putting the matchstick on the mouth of the tube it extinguishes with a pop sound the pop sound show that it is a hydrogen gas

2) the gas which extinguishes the candle with apop sound must be hydrogen gas and calcium chloride and hydrogen gas is evolved when Hydrochloric acid react with the metal calcium so ,the metal is calcium and the gas evolve is hydrogen gas

Hydrochloric acid+ calculate===> calcium chloride+ hydrogen
