Answer :-

\underline{\bf{Respiration}}:—

▶is the biological and involuntary process in which gas can be required or un-required is exchanged between organisms and their habitat biosphere.

OR

process by which cells use oxygen to break down sugar and obtain energy is known as respiration.

▶In breathing in which the inhaling of oxygen and the exhaling of carbon dioxide takes place.

Difference in breathing and respiration :-

⏩Breathing is the physical process in which we inhale and exhale air in and out of your lungs while Respiration is a chemical reaction where Oxygen is used to breakdown Glucose into smaller sunbstituents in order to generate energy that is A.T.P which is then used by the cell to function.

⏩There are 2 types of Respiration :-

\underline{Aerobic}:—

▶ means respiration with air. This type of respiration needs oxygen.

\underline{Anaerobic}:—

▶ This type of respiration means it doesn't require air.

Respiration is not to be confused with the brreating process. it is a common misconception.

Respiration is the exact opposite of photosynthesis. The process of respiration involves the chemical break down of glucose to release ATP (energy) for the body. C02 is a biproduct which is expelled through the lungs.There are two types of respiration: -

1) Aerobic respiration - This is the breakdown of Glucose in the abundance of oxygen this is the more efficent of the two processes and creates the most amount of energy. 52 molecules of ATP

2) Anaerobic respiration - This is the breakdown of Glucose in the absence of oxygen. This is not an efficient process, only 2 molecues of ATP are produced and a biproduct is lactic acid. which is what causes aches and cramps in muscles after excercise.

The chemical formula for Aerobic respiration is: -

(Glucose) C6H12O6 + 6o2 ---> 6Co2 + 6H2O + Energy

Anearobic respiration is: -

(glucose) (Lactic acid) C6H12O6 ---> 2C3H6O3 + 2 ATP
