7.Turgor pressure is important to the plant cells because it is what gives them the rigidness to stand straight and continue normal cellular functions. If a plant is not able to access enough water to maintain the turgid state then it will begin to wilt, which interferes with function. There is no Turgor pressure in animal cells because if there were to become turgid they would lyse, because they don't have the cell wall that plant cells have to prevent the lysing as the water floods down the concentration gradient into the cell.

8.Plants can only absorb solubleminerals (those that can dissolve inwater). They absorb mineralsdissolved in solution from the soil through their root hair cells. However, the concentration of minerals in the soil is very low.

9.Exosmosis is passage of water from root hair cells to cortical cells of root.
Endosmosis is absorption of capillary water from the soil by the root.

6.Root pressure is the flow of sap in plants by osmosis to move sap from the roots to the leaves.
This causes the cytoplasm to build the pressure against the cell wall. Thispressure is called as turgor pressure.
