∴ The radius of circle = $\frac{1}{2} (28)$ = 14cm,.

Area of shaded region = Area of square - Area of 2 quadrants + Area of 2 circles.,.

=> $(a)^2 - 2( \frac{1}{4} )( \pi r^2) + 2( \pi r^2)$

=> $(a)^2 - \frac{1}{2}( \pi r^2) + 2( \pi r^2)$

=> $(a)^2 + ( 2-\frac{1}{2} )( \pi r^2 )$

=> $(a)^2 + ( \frac{4-1}{2} )( \pi r^2)$

=> $(a)^2 + ( \frac{3}{2} )( \pi r^2)$

Substituting the given values,

We get,

=> $(28)^2 + ( \frac{3}{2} )( \frac{22}{7} (14)^2 )$

=> $(28)(28) - \frac{3}{2} ( \frac{22}{7} (14)(14))$

=> $784 + \frac{3}{2} (22(2)(14))$

=> $784 + 3(22(1)(14))$

=> $784 + 66(14)$

=> $784 + 914$

=> 1698 cm².

               ∴ The area of shaded region => 1698 cm².
