When we want to express what we think, we deliver it in the form of speech. Our speech contains various words. Such words are classified based on eight parts of speech in English grammar.

(a) Noun - It is also called as a naming word, which names a person, thing, animal, place, etc.

(b) Pronoun - Sometimes, repeating the same noun in a paragraph does not sounds good. So, pronouns are used as an substitute for those nouns.

(c) Adjective - It would be great if you describe about something, right? Adjectives are the words which enhances a noun or pronoun by describing it.

(d) Verb - Each and every day, we do various actions. And the words which denotes an action are called as verbs.

(e) Adverb - We've seen that adjectives are used to describe a noun or pronoun. Adverbs are also describing words but, it describes verbs.

(f) Preposition - To show us the position, time or direction in a sentence, prepositions are simply used before a noun or pronoun.

(g) Conjunction - The word "conjunct" means to join or connect. Hence, conjunctions are the linking words, which are used to connect two words, phrases or sentences.

(h) Interjection - The last, but not the least: Interjections. They are the words which denotes the emotions of the speaker. $\:$
