Question : The self inductance of a coil having 200 turns is 10 Milli Henry compute the total flux linked with the coil also determine the magnetic flux through the cross section of the coil corresponding to current of 4 milliampere.

Solution : Self inductance of coil, L = 10 millihenry=10 × 10^{-3}henry

Current through the coil (I) = 4 milliampere

Therefore total magnetic flux linked with the coil,

 LI=10 \times10^{-3} \times4\times10^{-3}= 4\times10^{-5} \:weber

Number of turns in the coil, N = 200

Therefore, magnetic flux through the cross-section of the coil

= \dfrac{\theta}{N}=\dfrac{4\times10^{-5}}{200}=2\times10^{-7} weber
