The sclera layer continue in the front of the eye as cornea. It is transparent white portion of the eye which covers the transparent bulge on the surface of the eyeball.

Human Eye :

The human eye is a light - sensetive organ, which enables us to see the beautiful world. The eyelid act as a shutters of the eye and protect them from shocks injuries and bright light when you look at your eye in the mirror you can see that on the outside, the eye had the eyeball and there is white plate or around it the eyeball almost like a spherical ball it has a diameter of about 2.5 CM.

Outer part of the eye is composed of three layers of tissue namely sclera, chroid and retina.

The Name of all part of the eye are as follow :

1. Sclera :

  • It is the outermost covering of the eye

2. Chroid :

  • The dark grey pigmented layer attached to the Sclera on its inner side is called Chroid.

3. Cornea :

  • The sclera layer continue in the front of the eye as cornea.

4. Retina :

  • It is the inner most delicate membrane having a large number of cells.

5. Iris or pupil :

  • Behind the Cornea is the Iris.

6. Crystalline lens :

  • It is transparent crystalline double convex lens.

7. Suspensory ligament :

  • Along with ciliary muscles, Suspensory ligaments are also attached to the lens.

8. Optic nerve :

  • It consists of about 1 million separate nerves fibre that connect the roads and cones of the retina to the brain.

9. Blind Spot :

  • At the junction of optic nerve and the retina, there is no sensory cells (rods or cones). so, no vision is possible at the spot this is called the blind spot of the eye.
