Given -

  • \sf{\bigg( 3 + \dfrac{5}{-7} \bigg)}

Solution -

We can also write it as,

  • \sf{\bigg( \dfrac{3}{1} + \dfrac{5}{-7} \bigg)}

Taking LCM of 1 and -7

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {\dfrac{3(-7) + 5}{-7}}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {\dfrac{-21 + 5}{-7}}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {\dfrac{\cancel{-}16}{\cancel{-}7}}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {\dfrac{16}{7}}

Hence,

  • The required answer is \bf{\dfrac{16}{7}}
