1)life processes = the activities by which living organisms take in food, derive energy, remove waste material from their body and respond to changes in the environment.
2) nutrition = the process of acquiring energy and materials for growth.
3) nutrients = food substances which support the growth of organisms and provide raw materials for the biosynthesis of body constituents.
4) intracellular digestion= digestion that takes place in food vacuole in the cytoplasm .
5) extracellular digestion = digestion that takes place outside the cytoplasm .
6) sphincter muscles= a ring of muscles that controls the release of food from the stomach into the small intestine.
7) emulsification = the breaking down of fats into small fat globules .
8) respiration = it is a biochemical process which involves break down of glucose with a subsequent release of energy inside the cell and then elimination of the waste products from the body.
9) haemoglobin = it is a respiratory pigment in human beings which take up oxygen from the air in the lungs and carries it to the tissues.
10) epiglottis = a cartilaginous flap which covers the glottis during swallowing of food.
11) why the walls of trechea don't collaps?
= its wall is provided with incomplet c-shaped cartilaginous rings. these rings keep trechea in streched position and prevent it from collapsing.
