Hi,

Direct speech means statement said in first or second person  

Example - I am fine

Reported on indirect speech means statement said in third person

Example - He said that he was fine

Indirect speech must be in line with modified time and place.

There are some basic things to be kept in mind which are the conversion techniques, given as follows :

• Direct Speech - Indirect Speech

• This - That  
• These - Those  
• Now - Then  
• Ago - Before  
• Last Night - The previous night / The night before  
• Next day  - The following day/ The day after  
• Today - The day  
• Tonight - That night  
• Yesterday - The previous day  
• Tomorrow - The next day  
• Day before yesterday - Two days before  
• Day before tomorrow - In 2 days  
• Week the - Following week  
• Now - Then  
• Here - There
