Given:-

Height - 4.4m

Hypotenuse - 5.5 m

Base = ?

For finding Base we need to use Pythagoras Theorem.

So according to Theorem,

(AB)^2 +(BC)^2 = (AC)^2

Given AB as 4.4 m

Given AC as 5.5m

And taking BC as x,

(4.4)^2 +x^2 = (5.5)^2

19.36 +x^2 = 30.25

x^2 = 10.89

x = 3.3 mts is the answer

What is Pythagoras Theorem?

According to this theorem, The sum of the square of the base and the Height of the Right angle triangle will give us the Square of the Hypotenuse.

  • Hypotenuse is the longest side of a right angle triangle.
  • Area of a right angle triangle is
  • 1/2*base*height.
  • Here also the hypotenuse was the longest side.
  • If the values may be in roots of hypotenuse then also on simplifying it will be initially longer than base and height
  • Isosceles right angle triangle's Base and Height both are same
