Ans in my opinion u should use Pythagoras theorem. check if i have kept everything correctly

given

hypotenious(h) = 29 =sr

base(b)= 20=pr

perpendicular(p)=y=sp

now, by using Pythagoras theorem

h^2=p^2+b^2      (^2 means power of 2)

or, p^2=h^2-b^2     (its a formula)

or,(p)^2=(29)^2-(20)^2   (keeping their value)

or,(p)^2=841-400

or,(p)^2=441

or,(p)=√441            (441 was the value of p^2 so to find value of p u have to                  find the root of 441 )

p=21

again,                                    (doing similar but for different triangle)

for triangle pqr

hypotenuse(h)=20=pr

base(b)=16=rq

perpendicular(p)=x=pq

now

h^2=p^2+b^2

or, p^2=-h^2-b^2

or,(p)^2=(20)^2-(16)^2

or,(p)^2=400-256

or,(p)^2=144

or,p=√144

p=12

therefore x=12 and y =21
