Answer:

c) Straight line

d) two

3.a) Multiply 2/5 by 4/4 and 3/4 by 5/5, we get

8/20 and 15/20

Five rational numbers can be anything between these two like,

9/20,11/20,13/20,15/10,17/20

b)0.2454545454545..... = x

10x = 2.45454545....

1000x = 245.454545454.....

subtract these two

990x = 243

x = 243/990

x = 27/110

c) now, x^2 = (2 + root3)^2

= 4 + 3 + 4root3

= 7 + 4root3

1/x^2 = 1/7+4root3

if we rationalise this we get,

7 - 4root3 = 1/x^2

Now, substitute both,

7 + 4root3 + 7 - 4 root3

= 14

d) x^4 = (x^2)^2 and 625 = (25)^2

using a^2 - b^2 = (a + b)(a - b)

(x^2 + 25)(x^2 - 25)

= (x^2 + 25)(x + 5)(x - 5)

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL ANSWER FOR THIS QUESTION...THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE MORE STEP OF FACTORISATION..BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT IT IS...

Hope this was helpful..
