There are two thermometer which are measuring the temperature of different areas. The temperature of Q will be higher than P.

This is because it is in contact with air that is in direct contact with the flame of candle therefore due to warm air, the temperature of Q will be high.

Since, temperature is the measurement of heating therefore, the more warm area will show high temperature compare to less warm area.
