5. Let two no.s be x and y. Their sum x+y=15 sum of their reciprocal 1/x + 1/y =3/10.
1/x + 1/y= 3/10
taking lcm. (x+y)/xy = 3/10 cross multiplying nd placing value of x+y from above equation ⇒ xy=50. Now since x+y = 15 ⇒x = 15-y Placing this value of x in xy=50 we get (15-y)y = 50 Solving this further
y² - 15y +50=0
∴y= (15+- 5)/2 thus value of y =10 or 5.. If y=10 x=5 or vice versa...
