solution...

given..

1) if 6 container lorries are required to transport 135 tones of goods in 5 days

find..2) how many more lorries transport 180 tones of goods in 4 days.

let we write....

If 6 container lorries can transport 135 tonnes of goods in 5 days

Then, in one day, the 6 container lorries can transport 135/5= 27 tonnes

Which implies that in one day,

one container lorry can transport  27/6= 4.5 tonnes.

If 180 tonnes is to be transported in 4 days,

then in each day  180/4= 45 tonnes will be transported.

If 1 lorry transports 4.5 tonnes in a day,

then,

the number of lorries required to transport 45 tonnes in a day is  45/4.5=10 container lorries.

There are already 6 lorries in operation, therefore,

the number of additional lorries required is .....

10-6= 4

hence four lorries are required to transport 180 tones of goods in 4 days.

i hope it helpfull to you
