their sum is equals to 180° since they are supplementary

x + x + 18 = 180

2x + 18 = 180

2x = 180 - 18

2x = 162

x = 162/2

x = 81

x + 18 = 81 + 18 = 99

subs x=y+8 in eq.1

y+18+y=180

2y=180 - 18

2y=162

y=162/2

y=81

subs y=81 in eq.2

x=81+18

x=99

Therefore the angles are 99° and 81°
