Question:-

Solve this:-

If, 2 = 6, 3 = 12, 4 = 20, 5 = 30, 6 = 42, then 9 = ?

Observation:-

2 = 6

3 = 12 (viz. 6 + 6)

4 = 20 (viz. 12 + 8)

5 = 30 (viz. 20 + 10)

6 = 42 (viz. 30 + 12)

So, we can observe that the multiples of 2 is added on the RHS of the above pattern, starting from 6.

Solution:-

From the above observation,

2=6.... 6 = 42 (viz. 30 + 12)

7 = 42 + 14 = 56

8 = 56 + 16 = 72

9 = 72 + 18 = 90

∴ 9 = 90, for the given pattern.
